Booking your exchange home has never been so easy.
Everything ready from your country. Book in a single click.
Three steps. That's it
You book from home, you arrive at your future place with everything ready, you settle in. No parallel formalities, no paperwork, all the info upfront.
You book
You choose your property, fill out a short introduction and book online. The property is held for you while the owner reviews your request.
You arrive
You declare your arrival date and sign the contract online. On the agreed day, the owner hands over the keys and a property condition inventory.
You settle in
You pay the monthly rent through the platform. If a problem comes up, you contact us and we mediate. At the end of the semester, we handle the return of your deposit.
What's now different
We've built a system that removes the real frictions from the process, one by one.
Neutral escrow
Booking fee and deposit in a segregated account throughout the semester.
Bilingual contract
Rental Agreement in English and Spanish, signed online with a timestamp.
Multilingual team
Support in English, Spanish and French, from people who know your program.
Pay from your country
No need to open a local bank account. We handle the conversion.
Never on your own
Student group, events, discounts at local partners and a connection with those who've already been through your exchange.
Dispute mediation
When there's a disagreement between you and the owner, we step in and mediate.
It's never been this simple
Moving to another country to study is enough on its own. Booking where to live shouldn't be another battle. We built Flatmaters so this step becomes the easiest part of the process.
Before a property goes live
Every property goes through these three steps before appearing on the platform.
Owner identity and title
- Owner ID document
- Property title or management mandate
- Legal authority to rent
Property condition and description
- Consistency between photos, description and amenities
- Furniture, services and rules clear from the listing
- Owner declaration on habitability
Contract drafted by Flatmaters
- Bilingual Rental Agreement drafted by us
- Rent paid through Flatmaters, not to the owner
- Neutral escrow of the deposit throughout the semester
